Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself

I subscribe to a couple of email lists from the CRON Society. CRON stands for Calorie Restriction; Optimal Nutrition. The bottom line for this pioneering group is to strive to eat fewer calories; eat more nutritiously.

Your mother was right. Eat less. Eat better. The Calorie Restriction Society is certainly one of the world's great resources to help you do that.

Today I read an email from Gary Austin explaining why it's so hard to eat well in the modern world.

"Because we have been naturally selected for a billion years to grab
every morsal of food we can get our hands on. Because at this
particular time and place in history there is such an abundance of
high-calorie industrial food that even the poorest person with the
slightest amount of ingenuity can manage to keep his belly full.
Because the food industry is constantly enticing the public to buy
and eat more food. Because the government works to benefit the food
and associated industries, not excluding the medical and insurance
industries, not the long-term health of the public. Because the
average person is poorly educated, does not think logically, is a
slave to bad food habits, has no family background of good nutrition
and primarily just indulges his whims. Because habitual overeaters
tend to create more habitual overeaters around them, in their
families and friendship networks, by encouraging others to eat too
much as they do. And for many other reasons."

Eating right is hard, especially when you first make up you mind to do it. It's my goal to make this site a resource for the pursuit.

You can do it.

See how Gary does it.

Greetings

You cant be more right.
