Get Your Vitamin DI just got my latest newsletter from the Vitamin D Council. While many of the assertions of Vitamin D advocates are yet to be proven, strong evidence exists that Vitamin D may become the biggest public health issue of the decade. Epidemiological studies suggest that Vitamin D is involved in fighting many human miseries from diabetes to several forms of cancer and even autism. According to U.S. News and World Report, "...research, published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, shows that those with the lowest vitamin D levels have more than double the risk of dying from heart disease and other causes over an eight-year period compared with those with the highest vitamin D levels." The Vitamin D Council is a group of doctors advocating greater awareness of the importance of Vitamin D and getting more people to take action to correct deficiencies. Check out the webpage and subscribe to the newsletter. And oh yes. Enjoy some sunshine (or at least get some supplements).
