Well, it doesn't work any better than a placebo unless you score really high on a depression test. According to a new study from the Public Library of Science, most patients improve, but "...those on placebos improved just as much as those on the drugs."

Thought: if placebos can make you better, why not figure out how that phenomenon works and use it to help people?
